I cannot change the brightness on my laptop using either the Function keys on the keyboard or the power settings in windows. I can adjust the brightness slider, even the FN keys work to adjust the slider, its just that the LCD does not adjust the brightness to what its suppose to be set at.
I can hold the FN keys, adjust the brightness using the keyboard, turn the backlight off, then turn it back on, then it works. But I can adjust to see the brightness actually adjust, like its suppose to.
Is there a solution? I'm running windows 7 professional, and Im almost positive all drivers are installed correctly

Try to reinstall the quickset and the graphic drivers. If you still experience the same issue, then it sounds like a faulty connector to the LCD backpanel. You can easily get it serviced or even replaced.
The computing device must have screws on the bottom which have little icons that look like a keyboard next to them. those are the screws you'll want to eliminate with the intention to change the keyboard.
