I aiming for a walk-on onto my college's track team fall 2013. What are the average times for runners? No specific preferfence for an event, but if you could give me a link that lists them, I would be very grateful. I'm going to Drexel University if you wanted to know the Division. And no I don't have an official time on any event because I have never ran on a regulation track (as close is I get is a large 1 or 2 mile gravel track. Plus I have no one to come along and time me.)

Well, I do not know if these are average, but these are times needed to be recruited by Wake Forest University.

You're going to want a preference in an event. Colleges aren't as lenient as high schools when it comes to event. You need to know what you want to run and how well you can do it. Especially at a D1 college. They wont just let anyone in.
D1 competing times would probably be:
60m: 6.7 or faster
100m:10.5 or faster
200m: 21.6 or faster
400m: 47s or faster
800m: 1:52 or faster
Mile: 4:10 or faster
3k: 8:15 or faster
5k: Mid-13s or faster
etc etc.
It is about 1/2 lap short of 2 miles. Here the h.s. kids run 3200 so we do not have any times to compare. If you look at the 3200 times and figure what the 200 meters will take to run then a freshman should run the 3000 in about 11:30.
do you even know what events you want to do? if you really want to do it, you should be talking/making contact with the coaches by now. theyll know more about what you need to do considering theres no official 'a' standard to make it on a team.
