i want to upgrade my comp form a i3 to a i7 or i5 i was wondering if this is att all possible or would i have to get a new motherboard? also if ant one could recommend a site to help me or there set up could you post it here.
my comp is a Dell Inspiron 620 Windows 7

Newegg.com is pretty much the place to buy a processor.
You do need to check with dell to see if that motherboard will support a quadie. the quad-cores have a TDP of 95w. The dual-cores come it at 65w.
If the motherboards can support a quad-core, then an i5-2400 or i5-2500 will work well.
Yes. I took a look, and it runs on a Intel 1155 socket. So, as long as you get any CPU that plugs into a 1155 socket, you're fun. To help you, basically all Intel i(3,5,7) with FOUR digits is 1155. The 3 digits one, like Intel i3 530 (the 530 is the three digits) is 1156, which DOES NOT WORK.
