Perhaps something regarding the default settings on social networking systems favoring wide sharing of information some feel should be private unless a person expressly moves to make it public. Many people have been surprised at the amount of information that automatically is shared with everyone when you post it to your profile or make it available to a friend's profile.
If information you thought would be private is made public, then people you do not know, or worse, do know and wish to avoid contact with, will also know this information.
If you post pictures of your children, your vacation plans, deaths, people can access this information. It doesn't even have to be on your site. This information can be on other people's walls. From this information people could follow you, find your patterns, likes, dislikes, etc.
