I wanted to know is there a specific amount of megapixels in a digital camera that works better with uploading to facebook? Even after I edit my professional photos in Adobe Photoshop Elements 11... the photos are super clear, but if I upload them to facebook, it's really blurry. Help please??? Thanks in advance.
*Once again... does the amount of megapixels matter? The digital cam I have right now is 24.2 megapixels...

If I'm researching right, Facebook currently has a maximum image size of 960×720 (about 0.7 megapixels). Facebook also reduces image quality to about 75%. So the only real problem you're having is choosing to upload to Facebook rather than Flickr or other photo-sharing sites.
I sent some 3 MP (~ 2 MB) images, and FB shrunk them to 60 kB images, even with their "HD upload" mode enabled. Personally, I think they're fine for sharing purposes.
Obviously, megapixels don't matter when it comes to FB uploads. Most every serious photographer will also remind you that choosing a camera based on megapixels is a stupid, stupid idea. The *photographer* (whether by skill or luck) has the most direct effect on image quality, followed by *lighting* in the scene, followed by lens and sensor quality. Packing too many pixels onto a tiny sensor (what many of the inexpensive compacts do these days) actually degrades image quality, compared to a larger sensor with lower megapixel count.
Some fascinating photos have been taken with crappy camera phones, and plenty of embarrassing shots have been taken by people who thought that simply buying a $2000 DSLR instantly makes you an expert shooter.
