a realist. an optimist or a pessimist believe in luck and events that will change. I believe you deal with what is dealt to you. What will be will be and do you best.
Realist hands down. I was raised by a realist father and a pessimist mother and I took after my father's personality almost 100%. I dismiss things that aren't logical to me. I wish I could be more of an optimist I guess if I had the choice. Takes a lot to get me down though, but I'm not deliriously optimistic.
I consider myself a realist. I hope for the best but prepare for the worst. I believe that chaos theory is real, and that people with the best intentions can make the worst mistakes.
I can be any of these under the correct circumstances. I have a proclivity for optimism, usually, and that is what I prefer. Helps to defer depression.
