HI Yahoo!
I plan on wiping my laptop to gain its speed back! I am familiar with this and I know that defragging doesn't work... blah blah blah...
I only have an 8GB SD card and a 2GB USB at my disposal. I know, sad..... I have more RAM on this laptop than that combined... I cannot go out and buy an external hard drive or USB. Car is in the shop and don't want to waste money until it's out.
I can contain all of my iTunes music and the drivers onto the SD card and all my documents on the USB... HOWEVER, I have over 30GB of photos. CARBONITE is taking FOREVER and I was wondering if Picasa has all of my photos saved online and if so, how would I go about retrieving those when I get the PC back up and running? I think I did this before but I am not certain so better to ask than find out after all your photos are gone!!!
Thanks!!!

NO - Picasa does not store your photos on-line. You may - may - elect to upload some pix to Picasa Web Albums, in which case reduced size versions of them are on-line, but PWA is not an on-line storage service and pix have been known to disappear from there.
What you should do is use Picasa - Tools - Backup - to backup all your photos to a DVD or (better) external USB hard drive. Then you know you can Restore them from the backup folder that Picasa will create.
Carbonite - I know it is a pain - is your next best bet. However (here things get complicated) if you have edited pix in Picasa and you have not saved the edits, then they are stored in a hidden file for each folder. Carbonite may NOT back up these files, in which case your edits will be lost although your original pix will be retained.
