Drupal or Wordpress Plugin?
I am trying to open up a website for my small business. Does anyone know if there is an option in drupal or wordpress that allows the guest to submit something that they write and it gets emailed to me? ( not like a comment more of a message that gets tagged with the item ) Also does anyone know how the shopping cart would work on it?

both would be suitable, the 'submit something' part of tyour request is called a contact form and tehy both have plugins you can use to get them and and the same goes for ecommerce ability.
usually ecommerce plugins are just shopping cards, people click on the products they want, its added to the cart and then they are forwarded to your payment method, usually somthing like paypal if you want to same money. If not it would be a merchant,
a word of warning though, there are rules regarding holding peoples information and especially credit card information and major fines for hack breaches, if you decide to take payments directly yourself and hold this information on your own database you better make sure you are insured and have professionally tested security
