Hi. I've now switched to a laptop a Lenovo G570 working on Win7, with switchable graphics. The one i am using now is AMD Radeon HD 7370m, with the recommended resolution of 1366x768. Today i connected a monitor, not widescreen, so i can extend my display but after i make a change in the settings, the 2nd display (the monitor) is going on for about one second and then goes black. It does not turn off, the power button is still green, only that it goes all black.
Update:Allright, here it is, exactly what happens, filmed with my callphone in my mouth.

suggestion, is try pressing the Windows key & P, this will cycle through the "external presentation/projector" displays ..
The monitor will close down if it fails to sense any input .. this is standard.
Hope this helps, if it doesn't please come back with more information
