I'm last in ERA and WHIP. I need a closer. I proposed a trade: I get Jon Papelbon and I give Roy Halladay( my 2nd round pick) and Jerremy Accardo. The guy declined it. Why did he do ? Is he on crack or something?

Sometimes the best trades are not trading at all. Where is the guy ranked in your league? When you look at a trade, dont just look at how it will affect you, but how it will affect the league as well. Papelbon gives him saves, ERA, and some K's. Wins can be gotten from the waiver wire. Too many people forget that their pitchers only get a certain number of innings during a year. I usually sit back and watch these guys build up wins and innings, then when we hit August - they cant use pitchers anymore and begin to dump them.
Good luck on your league.
Check the wire for your closers. Matt Capps, Embree, Myers (coming off Dl) may all be there.
He is stupid, definitely.
But you shouldn't do that! Jeremy Accardo will be the closer in Toronto until B.J. Ryan gets back. Roy Halladay is a very good starter. Starters give you much more innings, strikeouts, and wins than relievers. Accardo will provide you with decent strikeouts, ERA, and saves until B.J. Ryan is back.
Well both Halladay and Accardo have losing records. And Accardo only has 10 saves. Halladay is also rebounding from an injury
