You have to do things that make yourself feel good, in order to feel good about yourself. There are many ways of doing this. You could pick out the good things in yourself, physical and mental...and glorify them. If you like your eyes...make them stand out, have people notice them. If you are good at something....do it more often to get better, and get noticed. You will then feel better about yourself when others notice and give you compliments. OR go work out everyday...and feel good about yourself, which may make you feel more confident.
You have to find something or someone who makes you feel confident in who you are. This may mean joining a team, club, church, book club, etc. It will often mean bringing yourself out of your comfort zone and allowing yourself to prove that sometimes what may seem like swimming with sharks ends up just being another public pool with alot of people like yourself in it.
Be yourself. Acknowledge what is good about you (and there is plenty) and understand what you don't like about yourself. make a list of 10 things you like and 5 things you dislike. To balance it out, write down 5 things you can do to help change the things you dislike. Make sure that you are looking forward in a realistic and positive way.
One of the best ways to improve your own self-esteem is by improving others. Doing good things makes us feel- well- good! So try volunteering locally. This will help you learn new skills or use your old ones, meet new people and do positive for your community. What are you doing to do, lose self esteem over all the good things your doing while you volunteer?
I wish you the best, and hope you can get the self - esteem your looking for! There are alot of people out there- alot even on YA suffering from the same problems!
