Im 16 and im always excited to go out into the field, and i would love to spend all my time hunting. I want to know how to make a career out of it. Thanks
Besides spending your time in the woods and knowing your hunting equipment inside and out you must go to college. Your going to want to study biology because a lot of the Ranches I hunt at are all biologists or in school to be one. You have to know everything about the animals you hunt from the food they eat to their overall habits and habitats. Wildlife management is something you should look into. I know there are several Ranch owners that bring new biology students that are still in school to the Ranch to Guide other hunters, by the way these guys get to shoot $15,000 Whitetails too for free at the end of the season so its a very rewarding career if you love to hunt and not to mention free lodging, food and you get tipped out by the hunters which can be anywhere from 500 to 2000 per week. Check out Timber Ghost Ranch. com, its one of my favorite places to hunt and Im sure they will be glad to fill you in on any questions you have about doing what they do. Good Luck.
Really, it's not as complicated at the first poster says. All you have to do is find someone to pay you, and you're a pro. Some specific things you COULD do include:
-protecting livestock
-killing nuisance animals around croplands or grazing fields
-buying a plot of land, and offering guided hunts
-moving to areas where they pay bounties for pests
