How do I compress DVD files (AUDIO_TS (which is empty) and VIDEO_TS) to fit onto a 4.7GB DVD disc?
I have converted an avi file format into this DVD format and the size is nearly 5.13GB. The size of the avi file is 735.5 MB. Please, is anybody able to advise me?
What software did you use to do the conversion? It most likely has an option that will allow you to define the maximum size of the output file (which would need to be less that 4.7GB). You may have it set to use a dual-layer DVD. If the program you're using doesn't have any such options you really need to look into a more advanced program. WinAVI has always worked well for me, although it tends to go for speed more than quality.
ConvertXtoDVD would have taken the .avi file and converted it to the .vob files and compressed it if needed to the 4.7Gb disc. You might try the demo to see if it might be what you want.

ConvertXtoDVD might work. DVDFab will work.
