I have a Windows Vista O.S. but i need to reboot because i have a virus. Everytime i use it, it stays on for like a minute and then a blue screen appears and tells me something i never really get to see what it says but then it turns off. I also have a disc that upgrades my windows vista and i was planning to install it because i knew something was wrong with my computer but now that this happened, i cannot. I do not care if i lose all my files and stuff i just really need a computer :((( im typing this from my wii right now. Also, just in case, i cant do anything with windows, meaning im not sure if you can reboot your computer without the o.s. cause everytime you turn on a computer you know how a logo appears as the first screen telling to press f9 and what not for rebot, diagnostics etc. my question is, how can i reboot from there? i try to follow the instructions but they sorta comfuse me. Can you help me?

While the computer is on, insert your upgrade disk, then hold down the power button for 3-5 seconds, your computer will do a reset and you can then boot from the CD (you may need to go into the BIOS to choose booting from CD).
The blue screen has a STOP code at the bottom. It's in the form 0x000000yy - you need the yy part. Go to http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm to see what's wrong and how to fix it.
If you use the Vista disk and do a Custom Install, you'll wipe out the old Windows installation and have a clean one, but if the blue screen is due to a hardware problem, that won't fix it.
Reboot = Restart.
A restart will not remove viruses.
