How do I setup a failver service?

I have three websites hosted on their own domains on the same shared host. The host was taken offline for some reason (effects are still lingering), so I signed up for a second host and uploaded most of the site to the second host (minus SQL databases and non-essential addenda).

I signed up for DNS Made Easy and added my three domains. I added the A records for both hosts into all three domains. (Each host only has one A record.) The first listed A record is setup with dynamic DNS on, TTL 180, source is "domain", SM/FO is on, and GTD region is set to "default".

When I click the SM/FO link, it shows that monitoring notifications and DNS Failover are checked, protocol is HTTP, port is 80, FQDN is www.mydomain.com, and I copy and pasted the file name and test from a <meta> tag near the top. However, when I try to load the website in by browser, "Firefox can't find the server at" my domain.

I can go back to my registrar and enter my host's DNS entries and the site loads like it should, but my browser can't load the site if I use DNS Made Easy's DNS entries. DNS Made Easy says there are now 8 monitoring failures with the above settings. I'm a newbie, so I don't know why it won't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.
