Well my professor gave me the chance to make up a couple of papers before the semester ends and I re-wrote one of the papers I have. She told me that my paper didn't have a clear thesis; and in the introduction, I had to make a solid choice between the GTI and the Maz.3(my topic is about these two cars).

this is the essay I re-wrote just now:

I have been driving an old car since Florida, and I have finally come to a decision of purchasing a brand new car when I moved back up north to New Jersey. To replace my old 2000 Toyota rav4, I have chosen 2 vehicles that has taken my interest. The first one is the 2008 Mazda3, and the other one is a 2009 Volkswagen GTI. I literally dream of driving one of these cars. Every time when one of them passes on by, I picture myself driving one towards my destination. Both cars are wonderful, different specs the cars have, the popularity, safety, pricing, etc. I have read many reviews, received some opinions from car junkies, and did some researching of my own. I came to a final conclusion of my decision, and I have chosen the 2009 Volkswagen GTI over the 2008 Mazda3.

Well for starters, the 2009 GTI is way better then the 2008 Mazda3. For instance, the 2009 GTI has a 200-hp, engine which is pretty good compared to the 2008 Mazda3 engine which is 148-hp. However, from what I heard, the GTI is very smooth, sleek and responsive when it comes to driving and to top it all off, the engine includes a bonus, which is the turbo, which makes the DSG up-shifts lightning-fast,yet on the other hand, the DSG downshift is a tap bit slow, but it is still up there with its appeal. The 2008 Mazda3 handles more adeptly than most rivals. The automatic transmission delivers quick, smooth responses and the front occupant space is outstanding,which will surly satisfy most drivers; however, the GTI dominates the Mazda3 by a long-shot.

The safety features on both the 2009 GTI and the 2008 Mazda3 is outstanding. Both vehicles receive praise and a boosting popularity. However, the 2009 GTI has a very high rating in safety, in comparison to the 2008 Mazda3. Most reviews created by owners of both vehicles provide an abundant amount of information, but most of the ones I read, which included the GTI, had my utmost attention. The GTI was given 5 stars for safety out of 5, aside from the Mazda3 being given a 4.6 out of 5. Many people have different opinions, since they are or were owners of the vehicle, but I knew from the start the GTI was the right decision that I made.

Both cars have a high price range depending on what it comes with and or what is built inside it. Buying a car, or any recent car for that matter, can create a black hole in your wallet, literally. The 2009 VW GTI prices is $20,500 compared to the Mazda3 price range of $13,800. The pricing can also be this way due to both vehicles having qualities such its' automotive performance, body & exterior quality, and also the color and design. Most of the specs that can be found under the hood, which is the interior, can also determine the price of the car. For example, the 2009 GTI has a standard horsepower of 200, in contrast towards the Mazda3 148 horsepower, which is a 52 horsepower difference between the two, which also explains that the GTI takes in premium gas which costs more then the Mazda3, which takes in regular gas that is cheaper then the GTI. Since the GTI takes in more gas, I will be spending less from time to time, then the Mazda3, it beats having to fill up the engine more the usual.

Both cars are awesome, so awesome that the researching and opinions I obtained, and the comparing of the two, that it is very easy to make solid decision between the vehicles. The car I have chosen, which is the 2009 GTI, is far more superior, siding with the Mazda3 itself. Due to its added features such as the turbo and the increase in horsepower from its predecessor, the 2008 GTI, the 2009 GTI is smooth and quite remarkable, that is why it is a perfect successor to the 2008 GTI. It is also a car that makes driving such a breeze. Still, the Mazda3 is a wonderful car, but due to certain issues, such as the speed and both the interior and exterior difference of the car, I prefer the 2009 GTI. In addition, I prefer more space, since I am quite a tall guy, well, in my point of view that is. “This comes to show that sometimes you cannot judge a book by its cover until you actually read it”, in other-words, making the right decision in which one of the two options are place before you. With that in mind, I couldn't be even happier with the outcome of my choice.
