A spirit weapon can be made when a weapon achieves 100 proficiency, with at least 80% of the original durability still intact. For example, a 12/12 2H Sword would not be able to forge a pact with a spirit if its durability drops below a 10.
The spirit makes your weapon stronger, and also multiplies the durability of the weapon by a certain amount, from what I hear, which makes 100 proficiency 2H Swords and Claymores with 12/12 and 13/13 durability respectively worth so much (roughly 150k).
Due to the fact I have not played any other versions of Mabinogi other than NA, I don't know how to get one. Presumably, you'll have to buy a card, since Nexon is so freaking cheap.
Well yeah, different weapons always like different kinds of food. My Mabi husband and I have figure out that our weapons (a female bow below social level 10 and a male sword at social level 21, respectively) both really love rubies. I'm not sure what they do for the bow, but they increase four stats on my sword, and the increase is usually over 200 points for each stat. I've noticed that my sword like star sapphires too. They only raise three of his stats, but he gets a good number of points from each one. Other kinds of jewels also raise three of his stats but don't give him as many points. Unless your weapon is really advanced, I don't think you can go wrong feeding it any jewels you find and seeing what each one does for it. If you're more patient, wait until someone posts a full chart to the Mabinogi wiki.
Okay. Yes, the spirit weapon is made when the prof is 100. You can up the proficiancy just by using said weapon. That's it. The problem is that it takes a long time to get the proficiancy all the way up to 100.
hi, I m having troubles, I brought a brand new guardian bow, and female spirit of the bow stone plus the 30 elemental removers and I talked to tarlach he keeps saying I don t have a weapon to make a contract with ,but I know u can use guardian bows as spirit weapons so im frustrated. the bow is brand new full durability and proficiency with no upgrades so why wont it create
Try to get all the spells, like fireball, icespear, and thunder, then get arrow revolver and Final hit. Also, join a guild and do a bunch of dun runs wit some peeps, ill help, my character name is Nasido and im on Tarlach :D.
1. Talk to Aodhan in Emain Macha with a 100 proficiency weapon equipped. You will receive a quest and a keyword after you talk about Private Story.
2. Talk to Tarlach in Sidhe Sneachta with the keyword.
3. Talk to Aeira in Dunbarton with the keyword. Obtain the book.
4. Talk to Tarlach to give him the book.
5. Talk to Edern in Bangor with the keyword. Complete the quest.
The above quest does not have to be repeated again once completed.
You can now talk to Gilmore in Bangor about The Fossil of Ancient Spirit. Purchase a special pass for 5000G and prepare a pickaxe, then enter the Barri Dungeon with the pass.
- From what I hear, the difficulty of Barri Dungeon (Ego) is a mix of normal and basic.
The fossils can be retrieved from piles of ore randomly. Collect as many as possible and talk to Edern afterwards to refine fossils. The gender and type of spirit is randomized and revealed only after the refining process.
Talk to Tarlach once all the required items are gathered.
Required items:
A spirit stone of the same weapon type as the weapon you want to ego
A 100 proficiency 'non-upgraded' weapon with at least 80% max durability of its original value. Also, the weapon may be enchanted or have an element prior to the making, but they are removed when it turns into an ego weapon.
30 Elemental Remover (1k per balm, except on Fridays)
Repairing an ego weapon
Repairing an ego weapon is simple, yet some items required are tough to find. And if they are made, chances are they will be expensive due to high demand and lack of availability.
Requirements:
- Liquour of Ancient Spirit (requires a potion maker, preferably a high level one)
- 1 white herb
- 1 fossil piece of ancient spirit
- 2 elemental remover
- A 100-proficiency weapon
Note: You really only need at least 50-proficiency for the success rate to be 90%+ for most weapons. Getting the weapon to 100-proficiency will just repair more durability than a 50-proficiency weapon with the same success rate.
However, from what I hear, if the spirit is angry, there may still be a chance of failure. Perhaps someone could clarify this?
Also, it seems that only the proficiency matters when repairing an ego weapon, not the weapon’s durability or whether it has been modified or not. Again, this needs clarification.

Feeding an ego weapon
Now, feeding and taking care of an ego weapon is the most difficult and costly part of an ego weapon. I don’t have full knowledge on this part, so feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. From what I know…
- Ego weapons want to talk to you…a lot. So be nice and talk to them, otherwise their mood will drop eventually.
- Ego weapons will ask for certain items to be fed…again, a LOT. These items will increase its growth more than just feeding it random items. Also, depending on what you feed it will increase a certain stat.
- Strength: Determines minimum and maximum damage the ego weapon can inflict.
- Intelligence: Determines damage balance of the ego weapon.
- Dexterity: Determines injury rate the ego weapon can inflict.
- Will: Determines maximum durability the ego weapon can possess.
- Luck: Determines critical rate of the ego weapon.
I can only hope they ask for less food when they grow up enough.
- As well as increasing growth, the value of the item will affect its mood.
- If your ego is angry, you’ll need an item of higher value. From what I hear, you’ll need an item of at least 4k in value. Don’t want this to happen? Make sure you feed it regularly and talk to it.
- A good thing to prevent your ego weapon to not get hungry or mad at you is to stow it in your inventory. From what I hear, the ego weapon won’t talk to you, get hungry, or mad if placed in the inventory. But if it equipped as a main weapon (unsure if equipped as auxiliary), it will.
o I have a question myself on this part: If your services expire, does your spirit get angry at you for not feeding it IF it is stored in your inventory? Would it be safe to continue playing knowing that your ego weapon won’t be affected until you get service?

This guide will consist of three categories:
- Making an ego weapon
- Repairing an ego weapon
- Feeding an ego weapon (covered last since it’s the most difficult part)
Before making an ego weapon, do you know what kind of weapon you want to make?
