I think so if you can spare the money. My roommate has a 4870, which is essentially what a 5770 is except with like 30GBps less bandwidth. Not sure what it would do at 1920 reso though. Generally tests show that the 5770 is equal to a 4870 give or take 10% less or more performance here and there.
The 4770 had what 640 shaders? The 5770 has 800. It's basically a half of the 5850.

HD5770 is best for buck! for a newer graphic technology that you can find out there goodluck!

I have a 5770 and it's quite a hefty card.
If I were you I would also look into the GTX 460.
