In the lives of the other primates, males are dominant. In the lives of humans, there was clearly a period about 4,000 bce to 2,000 bce where women seemed to have much greater freedom than they did later. The
people back then worshiped a large number of goddesses and not very much in the way of gods. Before people understood how pregnancy occurred, women were very free to copulate with any man they wished, barring local taboos. Since they also gave birth, in a most mysterious chain of events, it is thought that women had higher status than later. About 2,000 bce in the Middle East and in Egypt men realized that semen was the impregnating agent, and men became more dominant. By 500 bce in the Mediterranean world, women had almost no rights at all. This is very definitely patriarchy. The Roman Empire became looser than the Republic was, but when Christianity came along, women were regarded as the inferior half of the human race because it was a woman who got Adam to disobey God. A little later St. Augustine conceived the bizarre notion that sex was the source of original sin. He also described women as vessels of **** and pollution.
So of course the Patriarchy is real. It was never a conspiracy. It was based on ignorance, chauvinism and jealousy.
Modern feminism is a philosophy of how best to empower women so they can run their own lives. What is the problem with this?
Pointless question, the "patriarchy" is a feminist myth created to justify there hate..
Because if such a thing existed as an all pervasive evil "patriarchy" then feminist's never would of been able to take over and launch there sexist policies.
It is like which came first the person who invented the myth or the myth?
Modern feminism and feminism in general is real. The "evil patriarchy" on the other hand, is chimerical construct made up by feminists to further their dogma and victimology.

But modern radical feminism is very, very real. My eyes have been opened by good people here, and I suggest you open yours too.

About equal as far as representing either a mythical entity or a genuine loose association or disparate groups taken as an entity.
I suppose so. Although we've never lived in a modern feminist society, whereas it's been patriarchal for a long time.

I guess so...they are both concepts that many people hold in their minds but people don't all agree on the definitions of them.
