Need help on a Absolute Value question..
x+2=5
Please show how you found it/work...
assuming that the absolute value of (x+2) = 5, then your answer is as follows...
/x+2/ = 5
x+2=5 or x+2= -5
(the reason why there are two equations is that the absolute
value of both 5 and -5 is equal to 5.)
x+2 = 5
-2 -2
x =3
and
x+2 = -5
x = -7
therefore, x equals both 3 and -7
x= 3, -7
x=3
x + 2 =5
/x/ +/2/ =/5/
x = 5 - 2
/x/ = /3/
x = 3
Don't see how it is absolute value, but...
x=5-2
x+2=5, transpose to
5-2=x then simply
3=x
although i think this is a wind up...u know what u need to add to 2 to make 5
