It's pretty easy to unzip them. Bur first you'll need an unzipping software program. There are a few free ones. Some good ones are Winzip or Winrar, but I personally use 7-zip. Here's a link to where you download 7-zip:

So when you have your unzipping software installed, first you have to go find your file in the downloads folder.

Then right click on the file

Then hover over the name of your unzipping software (eg. for me it's "7-zip")

Then click on "extract here".

And then the item should be installed in your computer. If it isn't, then try to make sure your custom content is enabled, and if it still isn't there it may need a mesh. Which if it does, then you'll have to go back to the website where you downloaded it and it should list it there if it needs a mesh. And if it still doesn't work, then it's probably a broken download, but those aren't common.
