So my mothers computer one day decided to fail. The problem is when powered on the machine gives no display. There is no beep code to clue me in on a possible issue. It does not display the option to bring up the BIOS. The video adapter she was using is an on board unit.
Things I have tried in my troubleshooting efforts are as follows.
I tried replacing the psu with a known working unit to no avail.
I tried using another known working monitor which also didn't work.
I replaced the VGA cable, no cookie.
I tested the original monitor with another computer, the monitor works fine.
I tried using a DVI cable which also did not work.
I also tried to instal a new video card which also did not solve the problem.
I have run out of ideas and would love some expert advice. Thank you in advance for your time.
Update:I just tested the ram in another computer seems fine. I also tried to replace the cmos battery. Somehow I overlooked the fact that the keyboard lights stay off when power on the computer. Which would lead me to think that you are correct and the mother board has died.

Motherboard probably went belly-up. Older mainboards have leaking capacitors sometimes and the board becomes unusable...
Have you tried the card in a different PCIe slot, if there's one avilable...?
Only other thing to test would be the RAM. But with malfunctioning or no RAM, there should be a continuous on and off beeping sound. When the computer has a small speaker inside, of course...
