Revise a few paragraphs please?

This is the other parts of my paragraph from before.

Again, told in the Old Man's point-of-view,

One day, the man looked at me, oh so strangely. Glaring right into my eye, perhaps there was something on my face that bothered him? His look was evil, and cold, he has never looked at me like that before. He didn’t even acknowledge my presence, just stared at me for several seconds and walked away. We never did talk after that encounter, after he looked at me with a mix of anger, and mischievousness.

I heard from the neighbors that the mad man plans to kill me, for my eye. That’s the most foolish thing I have ever heard. Ha! To commit a murder for a mere eye. Just because of an eye? I ignore them, and they still tell me these lies. But, the other day, the way he glared at me, maybe, were they telling the truth?

One night, I heard a faint laugh, and I sat up on my bed, startled,

“Who’s there!?” I asked.

There wasn’t a reply, so I waited for ages sitting on my bed, and trying not to fall asleep. After a few hours, I got really tired of being so cautious and groaned. I thought about the things my neighbors had told me, that he was out to kill me. Was the person I heard laughing the "crazy" man? I started to panic at the time, “Is this the night the man murders me?” I thought to myself, regretting that I had denied the stories of my neighbors and leaving it alone.

I heard the invisible person leap and pull me down to the floor. I yelped and tried to kick my way out of his strong grasp. It did no good for me, and he pulled my mattress over my face and smuthered me. I tried to take it off my face but I lost my conscienceness and everything had blacked out. At this point of time, I knew I was dead.
