I want to salvage an intel pentium 4 CPU from my old computer. But I don't know if I should, because the Dell computer had some problems. The problem was that when the computer booted up, it would go to the blue screen of death. It does that even if It is booted in safe mode. I'm suspecting that it might be hard drive failure, but I'm not sure if it really is. I ran the hard drive diagnostic test and the results were that the hard drive failed the test.
Should I reuse the processor in my new computer build, or should I not?
If it was the hard drive failure, is it safe to reuse the CPU? If it wasn't the hard drive, is it safe to reuse it?
