My new vid card, asus, 9600gt, is driving me nuts. i installed the newest drivers, tried older ones, but still its not working properly. One, it crashes way too often; second it shows artifacts and some sort of green lines on the screen. i tried to exchange the card, but still even with a new vid card its craping out. I know for fact its not a temp, cause i constantly checked the temp. Over all system works fine with my other sli 7800 vid card, so it can’t be defects in other hardware. (i have asus mother board as well)
I’m not new in computers, but i ran out of things to try. Any suggestions what might be causing the problems? Thanks
Update:my power suplyer is 750 w

try to upgrade power supply, 500watts works better.
So wait a completly new 9600 GT still had the same problem?
If so that defainitly has to be some sort of hardware compatability problem, there is no way you could have two defective cards in a row, it has to be some sort of compatability problem with your system for the 9600 GT. Sorry, but if you know for sure it is not drivers it looks like you need to try getting a new system or try even another new, but different graphics card like the 8800 GT.
Well upgrade your power supply to 600 or 550 watts. See your box where the video card was in. It will show you all the required things. The minimum power supply required is 400W, so I reccomend you to upgrade your power supply to 550W or 600W. If that dosen't solve the problem, go to the place where you bought your graphics card and tell them about the problem.
What motherboard are you using? If you happen to have an AMD 700 series chipset you will run into conflicts with your northbridge chipset, as they are geared twords ATI graphics cards. It is called spider tech...
I am just shooting for the moon here since you didn't give me any specs for what system you have this card in... If you have an intel motherboard and nvidia chipset, disreguard my post here...
