Ok, I'm running Windows Vista Home Basic and my main problems I have are with LimeWire and Yahoo Messenger. I close them and I still see them running in the Windows Task Manager. Sometimes theres two of each, one with about 300-900k using RAM mem and the other is usually using 15,000-40,000k of RAM mem.
"Why don't you just end process?" you may ask..... I try that and I get a window that says "Unable to Terminate Process" with a big red X saying to the right of it "The operation could not be completed." "Access is denied."
Right now limewire is running 2 processes, one is running up 54,000-55,000K of mem jumping up and down and the other is at a constant 336K. It's not open... Yahoo on the other hand is using about 23,500K and the other is at about 450K.
I don't know any other way of taking of these processes. I've used a RAM freeing software, it helps until i run limewire and/or yahoo again. Help please!!!
Thanks in advance!

Both Programs have options as to how they behave when you click the red cross.
Lime wire click tools, Options and System tray then select close immediately
It will be in a similar location in Yahoo Messenger .
sure, there's a RAM difficulty with Vista: (a million) It demands oodles of RAM sure, you will get domicile windows Vista domicile top type (sixty 4-bit) version. that's what I unquestionably have put in on my workstation's smaller not basic tension (nonetheless I regularly use PCLinuxOS 2007). As for the 32-bit/sixty 4-bit debate, sixty 4-bit would be shoved down our throats beforehand of later. Jettison the 32-bit mentality and be beforehand of the tech-curve.
