I am already inrolled for fall classes this year but i want to go into the pediatric field. its hard to find colleges online on your own so anyone have any info??
You cannot study Pediatrics as an undergraduate. This is a medical specialty, meaning that you will have to go to medical school.
You will need to earn a 4-year bachelor's degree while taking all of the premed courses. You need not major in a science, but many premeds do. As you are nearing the completion of your degree, you will take the MCAT exams and apply to medical school.
Med school takes another four years. Only after you earn your MD will you start a hospital residency specializing in Pediatrics.
So, you are looking at 11-12 years of study and work before you can qualify as a pediatrician.
Becoming a pediatric nurse would be easier, but you really cannot study a medical field online.
