My Toshiba Satellite running XP that i got from a friend has almost always failed to connect to the internet. I have spotty reception at best, and I have only got it to connect to three networks out of twenty, all of those open networks at coffee shops and the like. I would click on a secure network (that i have permission and the key to access it) and it will either A) says that it requires a certificate that it cannot resolve, or B) will attempt to connect only to boot itself off and say that the network is out of range and to try again later...even when i did absolutely nothing to change the settings of the computer nor the network.
Is there a patch/certificate i can download or a setting I can change that will allow my laptop to connect to modern day wireless routers? Will Provide more information as requested
