I want to make a program that will take a number like 24 and convert it into letters with word value. (i.e cat=24; 3+1+20) If you typed in 24, it would give you a list of words that fit the value. Please tell me if there is program like this existing, or is this possible for me to write it? I am using Visual Basic Express.

I am not going to look this up because that's your job, but I think you can convert a character to ASCII code with CHR() - you just need to figure out the VB function that gives you the ASCII code for each character, I think it's CHR()...
Then it's a simple matter of adding up the numbers for each character (big hint there). This is a homework question typically given to high-school level beginner programmers. Giving you "existing code" to solve the problem would be pretty stupid. It's more than "possible" for you to write this, it's *expected* that you will be able to do simple things like this without even thinking about it... that's why you are being asked to figure it out now, before you get a job and are expected to be able to do this in your sleep.
