2002 Monte carlo AC issue?
My ac is currently not working
I can put a hole can of refrigerant & the air will be cold for one day & blowing hot the next, so i know it is not the ac compressor
i have used the ac stop leak & the uv dye but there is no sign of the uv dye leaking anywhere along the motor a friend told me it could be the heater core
but they want to charge $50 a hour to look & $100+ an hour to fix & also parts cost
Hopefully someone has seen this before & can tell me what it actually is causing this problem

It is definitely not the heater core. I believe your friend may have been referring to the A/C Evaporator. Don't rule out the A/C Compressor either, they can leak and still work until the refrigerant is gone, but should show the A/C dye on the compressor. If the refrigerant is running out over night, it the Evaporator is leaking you should be able to see signs of the dye coming out the A/C drain on the Fire wall of your car.
