According to orthodox Christianity, God is three distinct persons, who, together subsist in the One Being of God. Those three separate and distinct persons are the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

The Father is not the Son. When the Son gave up the glory he had alongside the Father to take on human form and be born as a man, his Father was still in heaven. When the Son, Jesus, was baptised all three persons of the Trinity were present at that moment in time and at that place - the Holy Spirit appeared in the form of a dove and the Father spoke, "This is my Son, in whom I am well pleased."

When Jesus prayed to his Father in heaven, although he did not want to suffer an excruciating death at the hands of the Romans, he was obedient to his Father and did the will of his Father in heaven. He did not say he wasn't going to do it - he was merely expressing an entirely human emotion. As Immanuel, God with us, he was entirely in harmony with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Father, Son and Holy Spirit work together in perfect harmony - they always have, from before the founding of the world. The Son, who became Jesus the man, is also identified in John's gospel as the Word of God, who was there, with God, at creation, and who is God. The Holy Spirit was also there, at creation. There has never been a moment in time when the Father was without the Son or without the Holy Spirit. You simply cannot have one without the other two!

Christians claims they are the same person. But they are two completely different people. Just like when a father has a son. The father and the son are not the same person. That goes the same with Jesus and God. It doesn't make sense if they are the same person. When you read the bible God said's that he sends his son Jesus not that God sends himself to be reincarnated into Jesus. Funny that Christians completely denies the existence of reincarnation when this was taught in early centuries. They also get offended by it. But then again I believe they are two different people. Have you wondered why Jesus would keep on saying father if he is god reincarnated? Why would Jesus say father, why are you doing this to me if he's god reincarnated? Especially if god did wanted this to happened?

I am curious to see how people respond to your question and it is one that should cause honest-hearted ones to re-examine the trinity doctrine. Surely,if Jesus were God while on earth, he would have had the same thoughts, ideas and the same will as the God trinity believers claim he was. Jesus was a perfect man and he wanted to do his Fathers will, but he also knew what suffering he would have to endure to accomplish it. He was praying to his Father that if it were possible to not go through the pain and death he was facing, he would accept that, but no matter what, he would be obedient and do as his Father requested, thus saving mankind from the effects of Adam and Eve's sin and also fulfill the many prophecies that were pre recorded in the Bible regarding his life and his sacrificial death.

Jesus prayed, "if it be possible..." You left that part out of the passage that you quoted. IF THERE IS ANY OTHER WAY... If there had been another way, God would have taken it. If there had been another way, Jesus would have done it.

Mat 26:39

DUH! Of course He did not want to do it. Being crucified is not a fun thing to be doing!

For the joy that was set before Him. For us. Nobody WANTS to be crucified. It was the only way to save us. He endured the cross, despising the shame. While we were still sinners.

For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Jesus prayed "...your will be done"

Jesus was, is, always will be in agreement with the Father.

Jesus Christ was pre-existent with the Father - [John 1:1-3; 17:5; Colossians 1:15-17].

1) There is only one God,

2) There are three persons in consideration: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (This is the part debates occurs: Are they "one"? Note: meaning of "one" is always not clearly defined, that's why it's so debatable)

3) There are many scriptures, some "pro", some "against" Trinity.

I do not wish to go into a debate. Hence, I'll just give an illustration to see if my point can be driven.

I believe many knows what H2O is. Yes, many "loosely" call it "water". Why I say "loosely" because "water" is only the liquid state of H2O.

There are, as we all know two more states to H2O, existed as Ice and Steam. So are you going to say Ice, Water and Steam are one or three?

Actually, both are correct.

It is ONE compound (scientific term H2O), but THREE states, namely Solid, Liquid and Gaseous, existed as Ice, Water and Steam. Interestingly, scientifically, even one H2O molecule can manifest all three states. The only requirement is temperature (and possibly) pressure.

So if you are pro-Trinity, H2O is three yet one, and I think I believe in the Trinity.

These aren't the dark ages and every day they find or don't find You really think some supreme being would have himself hung to a cross because Adam ate an apple? Do you know in all of the historical writings nothing is mentioned of Jesus and all his miracles , except for the bible and those stories are figured to be written some 190 years after the fact. They do have faith.

Learn to follow subject and object so false teachers can't mislead you. The cup is the cup of wrath that Jesus must pour out on all apostates when He returns at the 7th and last trump. See Isaiah 51:17-22. Immanuel means "God with us". Now you can better understand John 10:30 (God wouldn't ask us to do something He wasn't willing to do Himself, which was to be born into flesh bodys - Genesis 1:26, God was talking to His children the angels.)

Christ in this event was trying to demonstrate his true human manifestation.

Understand that Jesus is the human manifestation of God, by saying this he was proven that as a human he knew that what was to come was going to full of pain and suffering. If we believe that Jesus was one hundred percent God than was what he did really a sacrifice. It would be like "yeah He did it cause he's God and it was Jo biggy" but He wanted us to understand that in His human manifestation he was about to suffer and would've preferred to not do it, but as God he knew that this was what he Had to do to save us.

You ask if they could still argue and that's a no, they aren't two separate individuals they are one.

I think the key point to remember is that Jesus accepted in his human will that the Father's will be done, thus standing in contrast to Adam's original sin of disobedience.

Thru sin, Adam lost sanctifying grace for himself and his posterity (us). Remember, we did not lose something we had a right to. The grace that Adam lost has been superabundantly restored in Christ for Christ chose to do the Father's will no matter what the cost.
