I learned how to add a back ground to a photo (thanks to someone here that helped me). Here's another problem I'm having: I want to add a forest back ground to my dog's photo, but everytime I try to erase the unneeded parts around her photo, I accidently erase her face, tail, paws etc... Is there anything I can do that's easier than just erasing the parts around the photo? Or, if not, how's a smart way to erase?

you need to become familiar with the "magic wand" tool. is the background behind your dog primarily the same color? hold the shift button down while you are selecting areas to select multiple spaces. then, click select on the top toolbar and "inverse selection". you should have your dog selected now.cut him out and paste him on your background. if you were familiar with "layering masks" you would probably be able to make it look relatively realistic. if you would like me to do it for you, email the photos to [email protected]
magic wand won't work on a dog cuz he furry.
Try using the magnet outline tool. and go around him.
