I used to have Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended, but some of the files were accidental deleted.
So I had to re-download photoshop, and once it was finished downloading, I tried to run the setup. But the setup didn't start, instead a pop up came up saying, "You can only install one Adobe product at a time. Please complete the other installation before attempting to install Adobe Photoshop CS3", and I know for a fact, there was no Adobe installations running. I tried restarting my computer, but that didn't work either. Someone told me to do a "clean uninstall", and delete all the files that had to do with CS3 in (C:), and I thought I did that correctly, unless I didn't delete all the files, maybe there's a possibility some are hidden, and I just can't find them? Someone told me to delete the components first, but I don't know which file they could be in, and I honestly thought I deleted all the Adobe files in my (C:). I'm in desperate need for photoshop, but it just won't install on my computer, and I would like someones help. (step-by-step, please).
Thanks/

hi there. u said u have deleted all of the files from C: drive
have u also deleted components such as "Adobe Bridge CS3"
"Adobe Extended Toolkit CS3", "Adobe Drive Manager CS3", etc. etc.
try to look into D: drive for some other components and installers
because when u run setup the first time. it somehow extracts files
used for installation in another drive.
try using the "CS3 Clean Script" provided by Adobe Systems
but i think it is too late to use this now because u have already
deleted all files from installation directory.
what u shud try is to manually uninstall "Adobe Ps CS3 Extended"
from the system. if we install such programs it also leaves
settings and software components in the registry for the software to run.
open regedit from run command [shortcut: windows key + R]
type "regedit" [w/o quotes] then enter
look in the left pane then
1. expand "HKEY_CURRENT_USER"
2. expand "Software"
3. expand "Adobe" look for "Photoshop" expand it
4, look for your version CS3 is version "10.0"
5. ryt click on the key "Photoshop" [if u don't have other photoshops installed] then "delete" it.
** to make things more safer u can ryt click > export > save it to 1 directory for backing up registry keys **
6. after deleting, do the same for "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
it is located together with "HKEY_CURRENT_USER"
7. do steps 2 - 5.
8. then go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\"
9. delete "Photoshop.exe" key from there.
10. then navigate through "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\StillImage\Registered Applications"
11. look for "Photoshop" string value on the right pane then delete it.
12. then navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall"
13. u wud see lots of keys starting with "{" then letters and numbers.
look for the photoshop key which contains "Adobe Photoshop..."
as the "DisplayName" value on the right
** Adobe uses "{E.." as the starting name for Photoshop just look for it one by one. **
deleting so will delete uninstall entry from control panel.
14. after doing so... collapse all groups u have expanded.
"Once you have removed the folders and registry keys, run the Photoshop CS3 installation from the original application CD and reinstall Photoshop CS. When you reinstall the software, the installer overwrites any remaining files and registry keys and will properly register the application with Windows XP. Windows XP should now list Photoshop CS3 in the Add Remove Programs control panel and allow the application to be removed."
make sure u have deleted all folders and files form this directories:
-- Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\
-- Documents and Settings\[current user]\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop CS3
hope this helps you ^^
definite, touch Adobe and ask for help there. A be attentive to warning. by no potential, by no potential delete data somewhat of making use of the administration Panel, upload/do away with courses. it extremely is impossible which you would be able to be attentive to the place each and every of the data are and easily deleting data does not do away with registry entries bearing directly to this technique. anybody who tells you only to delete data is risky and should not be around your pc.
