Algebra problem help plz?
The points (-2,4), (0,2), and (3, a-1) are all on one line. Find A.
I tried to solve it by finding the slope of the first two points (which is -2/2) but that would make the next number to be on the line 2 on the x axis.
How do I solve this? 10 points

You are being too rigid. If they gave you x=2 then yes y would = 0.
They gave you x=3 : y = -1 at that location. So a=0.
