I'm having some trouble with a question on my math homework. The question is: "An old pump requires 6 hours longer to empty a pool than does a new pump. With both pumps working together, the pool can be emptied in 4 hours. Find the time required for the new pump, working alone, to empty the pool."
Could anyone help me with this? Thanks.
Update:Thanks a lot man, really helped me out.

1/O = 1/N + 6 and [O + N]*4 = 1 give
O = 1/4 -- N and 4/[1 -- 4N] = [1 + 6N]/N
whence 4N = (1 + 6N)(1 -- 4N) giving
1 -- 2N -- 24N^2 = 0 OR (1 -- 6N)(1 + 4N) = 0
Giving N = 1/6 Meaning New pump fills in 6 hrs ANSWER
