American Kenpo if the practitioner trains right. I say this because Kenpo and Krav Maga are very similar but Krav Maga has better training generally. I notice Krav Maga hits the same spot too many times while American Kenpo hits more spots to get reactions which seems better. I think that for the sake of the highest and most effective hit % American Kenpo is better. The problem is tons of Mcdojos exist and many Youtube trainers suck (Like Joe Palanzo and Casa De Kenpo). The only good current 10th degree in America Kenpo that was promoted by the organization and not self promoted was Master Huk. He was promoted to 10th and rejected it and was asked a few more times before he finally accepted. He initially pointed at the picture of Ed Parker and said that is the only 10th degree in this system. So I have a lot of respect for him too.
Krav Maga is still very good and I studied it too but when it came time to choose which one to make my base art for fighting I choose American Kenpo.
Kenpo all the way. Krav maga is great, no doubt, but Kenpo is a true martial art...all legitimate styles of Kenpo...American, Kajukenbo, Shaolin, Shorinji..all of them.
Just look at some of the leading men of the Kenpo styles, past and present...Emperado, Parker, Reyes, Ramos, Castro, Chow, Mitose (All controversy aside, the man knew his stuff) and there will be little to discuss. These men and their Kenpo styles were/are extremely hard, if not impossible, to beat.
It depends were if it is a street fight I would say krav Maga if it was in a sanctioned fight I would say American Kenpo because you can't use most of krav maga's techniques in a sanctioned bout.So it depends were and it also comes down to the fighter not the style.

There is no style that is hard to beat or cannot be beaten. It is the man/woman not the art, style, system that defeats an opponent(s)
in combat.
What's your style??? "The art of fighting without fighting" Quoted by Bruce Lee's movie "Enter the dragon"
That is the ultimate art in it' own.
