A Sense of Proportion: Uranus is about 26,000 km in radius, and its main ring is about 51,000 km from the planet's center. If you represent the planet with a ball 5 inches in radius, how far from the center would you place its main ring?

Real quick: 26 x 2 = 52, use the "5" as if it was 5 inches. So double the km number, and move the decimal point to get inches.
51 x 2 = 102, move the decimal point just like before, to get 10.2. That's pretty close to 10 inches.
