Avast pops up when I go to random websites and always says that HTML:Iframe-inf has infected it or something. It happens when I go to Google websites. This only happened today, yesterday was fine without any problems. I can't go to the websites without avast aborting the connection but I also don't want anything to happen to my computer. What's going on?
Sites that trigger Avast:
Google videos, maps, and books
Google chrome website http://www.google.ca/chrome
Pages in Adobe.com
And Avast! aborts the connection when I click to submit this question.
But I don't know whats wrong with avast now? Or is it something in my computer? I've got a Windows 7 and a version 5 Avast!
Atualizada:aaand I just stopped the web shield for a second to post this :P

Error in signature file was soon remedied by launching a new update (VPS 110411-2).
Tonight avast! released a faulty update (VPS 110411-1). Unfortunately this led to block users more important sites (facebook.com, twitter.com), avast! antivirus blocking connections with the "Threat: HTML: Iframe-inf.
Please update your antivirus program to fix this error: Maintenance - Update engine and virus definitions.
Greetings from Spain! I'm just having the same problem you describe. I'm using Avast since few years without any problem, but today it's always disturbing with an alert about a "html:frame-inf" infection in almost every web pages I try to navigate at, making impossible to access many of them, or loading them instead with many bugs. It doesn't matter if I use Chrome, Explorer, or Firefox: the problem is the same. I was wondering I had a virus attack since I visited this forum. I am now changing my anti virus protection to AVG. I think this is too unacceptable for an anti virus protection, even if it's Avast. What a pity, Good Luck!
My experience too. I am running Windows Vista with Google Chrome browser and Avast Free. It popped up several warnings as I tried to start Chrome; same with Internet Explorer. I have just run a "Quick scan" on my computer and it reports 1075 files infected!
Just now I am running VirtualBox as a kind of sandbox, in order to get on the web and research what is going on.
A few minutes later: looked at the Avast Scan report - all those 1075 files are HTML files on my local computer, many of them are help files for the installed software. Some of them are files making up my own web site! Looks like all the "infected" files are ones with Javascript in them - HTML files with no Javascript seem to be OK. I'm going to wait until tomorrow before trying any serious browsing, but I *think* Avast is reporting any web page with Javascript in it as being infected with malware.
Html Iframe Inf
check if this is a fake antivius first. use dogpile.com(safe search engine) for this so your avast doesn't popup. look up the virus or error that keeps popping up. it could be a real virus. google has had a small history of viruses and may actually be downloading viruses on to your comp. try using a different search engine for awhile and then check google every once in awhile. it may be a glitch, as most people with avast seem to be experiencing this.
Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.healthboostpc.com/
It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.
The problem was on Avast's end and it has been fixed. Their site is currently slow since everyone must be trying to access it at once. Just keep trying to update your definitions. It will eventually go through.
A lot of people are reporting this issue with Avast today.
It must have a bad update file.
My antivirus is detecting virus (?) as well.
And the threat detection message pops up each time I visit a web page (there are some exceptions as well eg: http://unixhelp.ed.ac.uk/)
Many people have reported the same issue [1]
The same thing keeps happening to me, no matter where I go, it pops up with a warning, and then mozilla or explorer says it can't connect to the internet. Hopefully someone has an answer! I am currently in safe mode as I type this. The weird thing is, is that my laptop is not affected.
