Does anyone else think it is funny that the banks lobbied for years to change the Bankruptcy laws to make it harder for individuals to file for Chapter 7 yet they have no problem asking taxpayers to help them? I wonder if the CEO's of Lehman Brothers and AIG will have to go through credit counseling before they get their goverment check? http://www.nolo.com/article.cfm/objectId/B0B66870-...

It's not a government by the people, for the people. Thanks to Lobbyists, it's now a government by the corporation, for the corporation. When the hurricane delayed the opening of the GOP Convention in Minneapolis, CNBC showed the Corporate Lobbyists waiting outside to be the first ones in.
The bankruptcy law was one of the honorable services a bank could offer to those who have been failed by a failing system. I believe the banks knew the crowd would come for protection and they did a very human thing for their " self-preservation". I think their education of service has been tainted by their greed.
