I am currently almost finished with my undergrad degree in Psychology. I am interested in languages, and my thesis covers the topic of bilingualism. I would like to look into teaching English as a second language, but specifically to other adults, because I am not so comfortable with being around little kids. What is a grad program where I can get a Master s degree in Applied Linguistics, and gain the credentials to do TESOL? Is there any programs that will give me the credentials for TESOL both to kids and to adults (just to keep my job opportunities more broad)?
Update:Also, I am interested specifically in grad programs in the states of either Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, or North Carolina. The less expensive, the better.

Many universities have master's programs n TESL/TEFL or applied linguistics. You might start by looking at the University of Florida and Michigan State. If you're a resident of a state in the US, the cheapest program is going to be in a university in your state. A master's degree is the usual requirement to work in an intensive English institute (most state universities have them). To teach overseas, you can get a job with just a certificate, but the better jobs in the most competitive countries require a masters. Go to eslcafe.com and click on Jobs.
