Can an obese person starve to death?
I've always been curious to know, but yeah let's say a 300lb person decides to fast and only drink water for like 2 month. How long would it take for them to die? Would they lose weight and then die or just die? MUST POST FACTS, NO OPINIONS. This means if you guess and say 3 days and you know it might not be right, because you have done no research then you will not get best answer. :D Thanks.

When you fast, your body switches its energy source and starts using its fat stores, somewhere along the way it also uses the bodies muscles and break them down to obtain the energy it needs to survive.
One would think a 300 pound person could survive for a long time, which is true, but chances are this person has not been eating healthy, which means they have little to no nutrients in their body.
Once these nutrients and vitamins are completely dimished the person is living on borrowed time and will soon die. I would say a person of that weight would probly last 3-4 weeks before dieing.
There is no way you can guess how long someone can live unless you have some kind of magical powers, or do a scientific study BTW
when someone starves their body eventually eats itself so it would take longer for the person to die. They definitely would loose weight first but they'd still have the access skin. How long it takes for them to die though depends on the person/gender/weight/height etc.
If they decided to do that they wouldn't make it more than 3 days. They would lose a lot of weight which is unhealthy. That itself would give the person numerous health problems.
