Okay, here's the deal. I bought a memory card for PSX (PS1) that was used. It told me that the memory card was "Unformatted- Format now?"
(By the way, the Memory card is in a PS2.)
I know what it means to have your memory card formatted, but it was used and I was using it for the first time, so it's not like I had any of MY saved work on there, so I said "yes" to the format thing.
I saved the game I was playing on it... Or so I thought.
When I started playing again, the memory card was empty! I tried again, and it still didn't work!
I brought it back and got a new-used one, but it's telling me the same thing- that it's unformatted and stuff...
I'm afraid to say "yes" again and then have it be a useless piece of plastic.
Please help...

I say just format it. It's possible the one you returned was defective in the first place, which is common in used memory cards. Before formatting the new one, clean out the card's pins with a tissue and make sure there's no forign objects jammed in it. A cleaner card increases the likelihood of proper saving.
