Coach Bob Bishop is my favorite Physical Education(P.E.) teacher at James Madison Senior High. He is an excellent P.E. Educator. His lectures are focused mainly on hands-on activities instead of just sitting in a desk for an hour. His classroom was filled with multifarious fun activities every single week for the entire year. He taught us how to play many different sports while also teaching us the game rules. He taught sports such as: football, baseball, badminton, volleyball, frisbee, golf, tennis, soccer, racquetball, and basketball. In the past, I have never enjoyed any P.E. Courses, but Coach Bishop's extensive knowledge of sports history and his hands-on approach was unique and never boring, unlike the useless lectures that were repeated time and time again by my previous Physical Education teachers. He made P.E. fun and exciting for his entire class. Coach Bishop has also introduced me to yoga and meditation, and, to this day, I still practice them every day. I find it to be a great way to release physical and mental stress. I used to hate P.E. in general, however Coach Bishop has taught me an appreciation of sports, the importance of paying attention, and he always had a charismatic personality that made learning about different sports a pleasure rather than a chore.
