Now I am guessing that is what I need.....I Clean installed Vista Home Premium onto my HP Pavilion DV4 and when I plug my Ethernet cord in I get nothing. I checked device manager and I have yellow triangle ! next to a few things such as Network Controller, Video Controller, couple unknowns, and 3 Base System Devices. If I am wrong about what I am looking for I would appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction. Thank you
Atualizada:@mick it is a dv4-1430us ..............not on the list. there is a 1431 would it maybe work. Also lost the disk that came with it

Your HP Pavilion DV4 is one of a series of 296 different computers, my friend.
What you'll need to do is take another look at your computer to see what other numbers are after the DV4 and select it from the following website. This will then take you to the page where all the available downloads can be found for your computer on the HP (USA) website.
Did you not get a motherboard drivers CD with your computer? If so, this is the disk you'll need to insert into your CD/DVD drive. The network controller driver is the one that you'll need to install to get you back onto the internet.
Compal Drivers
Drivers are always a issue with windows, i would reccomend going to the manufacturer website
and looking for the exact driver yourself. If that won't work you can go the easy way and try
a software like the one using the link below.. The one below helped me out with all my driver
problems so it should work for you you also i guess.
