Computer processor (cpu speed)?
Ok say i have a duo core processor cpu speed 1.2 on dxdiag, because its duo does that mean i actualy have a total cpu speed of 2.4 or just 1.2, because there are some quad core processor's around that only have 2.4 cpu speed, which is alright, or they have 9.6 cpu speed which is friggen sweet

I don't know how many times I have to debunk this misconception.
A dual core at 1.2Ghz is nothing more than a CPU that can run two operations at 1.2Ghz. No faster.
Sure, having two cores makes things run more smoothly, but it is no faster overall.
A Dual Core 1.2 Ghz vs a Single Core 1.2ghz of the same architecture will perform the same running a single application. When running multiple applications, you just wait a little less when you have the dual core.
When you have a dual core cpu, it's like having 2 cpus. So yes it's like having 2.4, except it will be 1.2 times 2. So you will not be able to run a game that requires 2.4.
in essence you have to processor cores running at 1.2 which could equate to 2.4, but realistically there are too many factors involved so a more realistic estimate would be 1.2 x 1.7 on average so around 2
