News reporter: man suddenly dies. today, we will find out what happened.
Doctor: We have found that this man swallowed a goldfish, he found it in his church scavenger hunt. The fish was named Lucky, all the children were servilely sad that this mad took the life of this beloved fish
Hi Jeff Goldfish love veggies and fruit. Some of them need cooking or boiling. Don't feed them too much. Only once a day what they can eat in 2 minutes. Then remove uneaten food. Top 14 household foods your fish needs: 1. Peas - helps at digestion 2. Letuce 3. Spinach 4. Zucchini 5. Carrots 6. Cucumbers 7. Apples 8. Grapes 9. Garlic 10. Pieces of Orange ( for vitamin C ) 11. Boiled Rice 12. Broccoli 13. Corn 14. Beans Good luck and take care.
Feeding vegetables or plants to fish can create a huge mess, and bad water quality. Most prepared foods are balanced enough to keep most fish alive, but if you want better than average fish, then better nutrition is one good place to start. There are premium fish foods, that claim to be better, but many people use vegetables, especially for Plecostomus and some of the large cichlids, like Oscars. With the added food, and the possibility of overloading the tank and filter, you have to look at increasing the tank size and filtration. Use less shred-able food like zucchini cut into thin pieces or strips, or harder lettuces like romaine. Some fish just love peas. Spinach while very nutritious, gets slimy and all over the place. Remove any trace of the food after a few hours, or else it begins to rot in the tank and affect water quality. Be careful, because you will be overfeeding and if you have a small tank, the water quality can go bad in a day or two.
Yes it can mess you up. Goldfish are very cheap fish so to be marketable they are transported and held in very crowded conditions where the water is permeated with their own feces and ammonia. Tropical fish have given people tuberculosis even without eating them and hepatitis is also a risk.
Most fish-keepers I know who keep predatory fish will not feed them goldfish because they are so disease and parasite ridden.
No, I do not believe that eating a gold fish will "Mess you up". It is no diffrent then just eating raw fish. Make you sick sure but I can not see it posing any health problems

RE:

i ate a live goldfish and my stomach hurts.

Sorry to give you the bad news.
I've heard live goldfish are highly nutrituous and digestible.
But it depends how much you can handle it in your stomach. It won't "mess you up" but it might make you get sick.
You'd just puke it up, which is good in case it carried tape worms or a disease.
But puking or not puking would be fine.
Eating raw fish (alive or not) can give you various parasitic and bacterial diseases.
If symptoms continue, see a doctor who knows something about parasitology and explain that you ate a live fish.
What kind of church do you go to, that has you eating live animals???
It's easier on you then the goldfish.
