Which is better and for what? I'm trying to pick between a mac laptop and a dell laptop. I'm more familiar with dell, but if mac is superior in laptops, I can adjust.
Dell has a better price, better warranty, better support.
I sold apple/mac at comp usa, they came back very often. There is lack of support, and local repair shops also. The product costs more than average, and isn't compatible with much unless you run Windows on a mac... which kinda defeats the purpose of their less virus claim.
If mac was good, or even decent, they wouldn't have to adapt to windows OS. Since their software selection is so poor, they are pretty much building a pc, charging you way more, and saying it runs windows.
The average user will never benefit from any of the slight advantaged the mac's do have. Even though there arent many, if any at all...
Testing shows a normal PC is much better bang for the buck, easier to use, compatible with almost everyone, and a fraction of the price to repair as a mac.
Choose what 95% of the world use. If 95% are picking one over the other, it is for a million more reasons than I will bother to list here.
I used to sell mac and pc. I must say, mac's are decent, but nothing special. Most people haven't used both. I have. Been trained on both. Seen the hardware failures of both. The software selection. I have of course seen more mac users go to pc than pc users go to mac.
I'd buy a Dell, Toshiba, Sony, or HP laptop.. probably in that order. good luck
PS... there is way more, better, and free software for PC than there is for mac's. Mac might have 1 decent program that windows doesnt offer. But Windows will offer many that are similar, and 100 that are better. So enjoy your 1 program, I have 5 music programs to edit my sounds, mixes, tracks, and sets. All for free... Thanks pay more, get less with a mac
Pros: Very low chance of viruses or spyware. Awesome software availability especially for videos and photography. Built in isight camera. Comes with imovie, garageband, iweb, itunes, and idvd. The software is a great value.
Cons: The price. Kind of hard to get used to mac at first.
Dell
Pros: Low price, some come with built in cameras.
Cons: Viruses, cameras aren't all that easy to use. Doesn't come with a garageband, iweb or idvd equivalent.

Well, if you have a Dell and are thinking about a Mac. Stay with Dell, because dell comes with Xp or Vista and some programs won't work on Mac.
Stay with PC, because some programs don't work on Mac.

I don't care for Mac products. Even my current mp3 player is a Samsung (T10) - it's immensely superior to ipods of the same generation.
