So, I live in Great Britain. I wish to become a singer one day. My passion is music (rock, hard rock, punk pop). I am sure about this as I have wanted to be a singer since I could speak. I have this goal I want to reach. I really need advice on this. I have four years to do this. In four years I'll be the age to enter the X Factor. I will start training now. (I already am). I have private singing lessons every week. I get a lot of very good tips from my teacher. She takes things seriously as I and my partner do- I sing in a group of two. We still do solo singing and take turns to listen to the teacher. I pick up very quickly. I listen to what she tells my partner and also use those tips. I plan on singing all the time like I do. I can't go an hour without singing really. If I enter the XFactor, I'll be noticed. I'll be able to reach my goal and become a singer. I will spend those 4(and a bit) year through highschool-I only started highschool- to practice and learn. I want to be able to read notes, have a wide vocal range and be able to do many things with my voice. My teacher says I'm good, rather outstanding. Do you think my goal of becoming a singer is realistic? I really need answers because for the new year, I'm going to focus on this from then on post.
Thankyou for your time. Be sure to read all the information, if anymore is needed I will provide.
Update:Insurrection- Thankyou for your answer. I think that my age at the moment is pretty young to 'get out there' and that is why I plan on working so long before I do 'put myself out there'.
Update 3:M.- yes, great math. I appreciate your answer. Thankyou and I really hope I do reach my goal.

MANY variables enter the equation of what you WANT. If I did the math correctly, you're 12? In my humble opinion, having the DRIVE is the single most important thing to keep you going. Next, you need the equipment. Your vocal cords will be your single, most important tool/equipment that you will ever have. You must train them, and exercise them and protect them. NEVER smoke! Don't scream at people. All child stars had exposure. Keep singing. Sing with others. Don't pick up their bad habits.
I think it's a realistic goal. Its better that you started in childhood, than if you got this idea during your adult years.
After equipment, you need material. Find some songwriters. Find out about the music makers, and have a few trips to a recording studio to watch, then participate.
Don't give up!
Of course it is! If you truly have this much talent, you certainly do have a chance at your goal.
What you really need to focus on now, though, is putting yourself out there. You may have outstanding talents, but the world of singers won't be ready to accept you unless you show the world what you've got.
Take small steps first. Sing at a local church, get yourself noticed. I promise you that if you really put time and effort into this goal, you can easily reach it.
I don't think it is realistic to think that you are going to become a singer unless you have major talent. Take recordings of your five favorite singers singing your five favorite songs and listen to them very carefully. Record the same five songs and then compare them to those five singers. If you can honestly say that you sound as good as any of them you might have a chance as a singer.
Absolutely, never give up on your dreams. Those who succeed are the people who keep trying, and if you don't succeed you've done what you love along the way!
If you work hard and truly apply yourself, you can and will achieve.
If you want it hard enough, and try hard enough, I think you'll find success.
