Once my friend and I were playing on my xbox, he left, I popped in Fable 3, and because his controller was still on, another character (a female hero with basic equipment) popped up. Can anyone give me any info about this or link me to a site? I basically want to know how, if at all, the other character becomes involved with the story, quests, and other things like that.

from the moment you begin, the game will ask witch hero are you and it will let you choose rather male or female, it will also say on the screen insert 2 controller or something and a person can join, you but if you do it this way 2 player will have to play as the opposite sex as you pick, or you can just start your files seperately and join the other person after you both make a character,
with two player co-op you have to stay on the same screen wich confines you to a small area and strenous movement
and whoever is second player will be able to buy sell items buildings change weapons or clothes
unlock skill pretty much everything except progress in the story
even if they beat the game in co-op second player will still where they left off in single player
i still enjoy the game very much
i hope this helped

Yes, that was one thing that Lionhead fixed with the co-op. However, in offline co-op the two players are still forced to remain somewhat close together. However in online co-op, that restriction is removed.
For fable 3 offline co-op, if me and my gf both played on the same xbox what all could she do offline in my world like would her character be able to do stuff and more importantly, would we be able to marry on co op on the same xbox and have children and both be able to interact with them?
If the character is not from a save game spot it is just a henchman, that gets no reward from doing things. Just a hired gun...desperado...passing stranger that saw trouble and lent a hand.
