As I watched Grey's Anatomy last night, I was confused. Meredith tried to get George to forgive Christina, by saying that when everyone called him 007... Only to have George yell "She called me 007!"
I'm a newer watcher to the show and don't understand the reference. Can anyone help me out?
Atualizada:I'm a James Bond fan as well, and that's what's confusing. George does NOT fit the suave, cool, martini-drinking, women seducing secret agent type.
I guess the interns aren't too savvy about Bond. :)

You missed the first episode of the show. In that episode one intern was selected by Burke as the best intern and given the opportunity to preform a procedure. Burke chose George to see if he had what it took to be a doctor and to send a message one way or the other to the other interns. All of the interns were up in the gallery watching as Burke supervised George performing a simple appendectomy. The interns were taking bets on when he would give up and ask for help. Meredith had fifty on him going all the way. Christina was on the other side of the coin. George pulled too hard on the strings as he was turning over the stump to remove the appendix. He wound up tearring the strings and making the area septic. Burke had to step in and save the patient. Christina labelled George "007". Meredith replied "007?" Alex filled in "Licensed to kill." It has less to do with James Bond and more to do with being licensed to practice medicine. If you remember earlier this season meredith had her appendix out and Bailey picked George to do the procedure. Meredith was a bit apprehensive about the selection. What she should have remined George of was the time Christina had George get out of Burke's apartment. She did so by parading around naked so burke would throw George out. So not only did she not throw him out herself, she gave him a free peep show to boot. What's more is that is what lands George getting closer to Callie. At any rae you now know everything you needed to know about that label as it applies here.
James Bond had like a license to kill George is supposed to save people and on his first or procedure the interns kept taunting him by saying that, Christina was one of them.
007 = licence to kill
George started off with a bad track record that the other interns made fun of him for it.
